The First English Talent Show was Successfully Held in Huanggang Middle School Guangzhou Branch
12月11日下午，广州市黄广中学学生组织举办以“精育栋梁，英达天下”为主题的英语技能大赛。
It was a sunny afternoon on December 11th, students of Senior 1 and Senior 2 went to the playground to watch the First English Talent Show held in High School Department. All the students were excited to wait for the beginning of the show.
冬日的冷风肆虐，但学生们的热情一如暖阳，活动现场持久沸腾——高二同学们的表演让人眼前一亮，英文版的《随蝶而逝》《唐伯虎点秋香》不失典故精髓又创意加分，令现场观众拍手叫绝；高一学生也不甘示弱，《皇帝的新装》《白雪公主》纯英语话剧表演意外出彩，夸张到位的表演叫人捧腹；音乐剧《音乐之声》及风格各异的歌曲串烧等精彩节目也惊艳全场，在场的外教老师也对学生们全身心投入的表演啧啧称赞。
Although the weather was not good enough, all the students were so excited that the whole playground was bustling with loud voices and laughter. After a while, the wonderful show began. With rich experiences and good teamwork, students from Senior 2 showed their outstanding performance and didn’t live up to our expectations. Programs such as Gone with the Butterflies and Flirting Scholars were refreshing and wonderful. The performance of students from Senior 1 was also excellent enough; dramas like The Emperor’s New Clothes and The Snow White were amusing and funny and won a round of applause; programs like the musical The Sound of Music and varied songs and chorus also amazed the audience, even the foreign teachers highly praised their good performance.
比赛落下帷幕，但同学们余热未散，仍兴致勃勃地就活动节目展开讨论。本场竞赛以“提高学生的英语表现力、鉴赏力以及对英语的兴趣”为目的，活动成功掀起高中学子探索英语的热情浪潮。参与活动的学生们纷纷表示，本场大赛是高中生活里特色与趣味兼具的活动之一，让他们深深感受到高中生涯的精彩、充实、饱满。“如果来年还有这样的活动，我们一定会汲取这次的经验，发挥更多创意，为学弟学妹们呈现更精彩的演出，怒放我们的生命，展示黄广高中学生的青春魅力！”
As the sky darkened, the competition was at an end, but all the students were still excitedly talking about this contest. The aims of English Talent Show are improving students’ abilities in appreciating English, increasing their English skills and arousing their interests in English and it did achieve these purposes. Moreover, this talent show impressed all of the students and left a good memory for them. This competition made all of them deeply experience the rich and wonderful high school life. We are looking forward to the next English Talent Show and in the next competition we will draw on our experiences in this contest and do our best to show ourselves.
